The Complaints
The complaints in this case arose after the applicant contacted Police Scotland to report an alleged assault.
We have reviewed the handling of three complaints, namely that:
The applicant is dissatisfied with the standard of enquiry conducted following his report of assault on 10 August 2024.
Police Scotland took an excessive amount of time to investigate the applicant’s report of assault.
The applicant received a lack of updates following his initial update, and he was only updated following a published newspaper article and the submission of a complaint about the police.

Police Scotland did not uphold any of the applicant’s complaints.
Our Findings
We have found that Police Scotland handled all of the applicant’s complaints to a reasonable standard.
